National Trust

National trust Estates are always great to visit and we have 3 close by.

  1. Wimpole Hall Estate - you have grounds to explore, the house to visit and particularly good to visit with children is the Farm at Wimpole.


  2. Anglesey Abby -  Theirs lots to enjoy and see. lots of grounds to explore, including a play area for children, den building area. You can go up the mill and watch flour making demonstrations as well as look around the House.


  3. Wicken Fen - Wicken fen nature reserve is great to spot lots of birds and wildlife. Take a look around the reserve and you will come across a play area again great for children. keep an eye on there website and you will find regular special activities such as pond dipping.

close by we have 3 English Heritage kept areas.

  1. Denny Abbey and The Farmland Museum

  2. Duxford Chapel

  3. Audley End House and Gardens

Cambridge Town Centre

You can take the guided busway from Longstanton into Cambridge city centre.

In cambridge you will find the lots of main high street stores as well as quirky independent shops. Lots of restaurants and pubs to enjoy a spot of breakfast, lunch or Dinner.

You can punt along the river cam either do it yourself punt or we can recommended the tour punts where a tour guide will tell you about your surroundings whilst punting.

you can visit the many colleges around the city as well the museums.

St.Ives

You can head to the guided busway and head off to the market town of St.Ives for the day.

market days are Monday and Fridays. In St.Ives you can see the historic buildings and visit the Norris museum.

we recommend taking a break and visiting Toms cakes which serve a vast range of cakes and some pastries.

On the way to St.Ives on the guided bus way you will of noticed Fen Drayton Lakes here you can get off and explore pathways around the lakes and spot many different birds and other wildlife.

Huntingdon

You can take the guided busway to Huntingdon. In Huntingdon you will find a range of high street stores and the Cromwell Museum which is a collection of items relating to the life and time of Oliver Cromwell.

if you continue on the guided busway past the town center you will find it stops outside Hinchingbrooke hospital which also is a very short walk from Hinchingbrooke Country park. they hold park runs here on Saturdays and its a great area to explore with children and dogs.

Ely

Ely is around half an hours drive from Longview. in Ely your find historic buildings and you can Explore Ely cathedral. Ely has many independent shops and restaurants and tea rooms.
